Keeping Your Drive Shaft on the Straight and Narrow

Posted on 10th April, by The LSX Dr in Safety. Comments Off

If you plan to drag race your GEN5 Camaro you may need some additional safety equipment depending on how quick your ET is. One such safety piece is a Drive Shaft Safety Loop. NHRA rules mandate if the vehicle runs 11.49 or quicker one is required.

Metco Motorsports makes a bolt-on Safety Loop for the GEN5 Camaro. This piece requires no drilling and bolts on within minutes. Best of all it does not require drive shaft removal. It bolts to the transmission crossmember and will clear 3” aftermarket exhaust.

The DSS Loops are available for the Manual and Automatic Transmissions on the GEN5 Camaro.  The kit includes illustrated, installation instructions and all necessary hardware.  No special tools are required for installation. Two (2) brackets are bolted to the factory transmission mount studs. Then the bracket assembly is assembled together on the vehicle.
